Web badge addiction

Okay, I got carried away making web badges when I found this site: http://www.lucazappa.com/brilliantMaker/buttonImage.phpIt was addicting. I've added the badges below…

So, I haven’t gotten into this whole “Chuck Norris does this or that”, but for those of you who are, you might be interested in this: http://borkweb.com/story/chuck-norris-roundhouse-kicks-the-world

Here’s what Chuck Norris has to say about the whole thing:

IN RESPONSE TO THE “RANDOM FACTS” THAT ARE BEING GENERATED ON THE INTERNET

I’m aware of the made up declarations about me that have recently begun to appear on the Internet and in emails as “Chuck Norris facts.” I’ve seen some of them. Some are funny. Some are pretty far out. Being more a student of the Wild West than the wild world of the Internet, I’m not quite sure what to make of it. It’s quite surprising. I do know that boys will be boys, and I neither take offense nor take these things too seriously. Who knows, maybe these made up one-liners will prompt young people to seek out the real facts as found in my recent autobiographical book, “Against All Odds?” They may even be interested enough to check out my novels set in the Old West, “The Justice Riders,” released this month. I’m very proud of these literary efforts.

So this whole inter-camp battle is going on and I thought I had the makings of a “Doom’s Day” attack. I found where the facebook ‘poking’ passes the user being poked and the user doing the poking. I though, “If I could just collect an undetermined number of user numbers and compile a massive poke of the unnamed co-chair, then I could possibly bring the battle to a close.” However, it seems that a facebook session cookie must be set for the user doing the poking. I’ve been unsuccessful at ’spoofing’ another user’s cookie, but I will continue to try. Wouldn’t it be great to be able to poke someone with anywhere from 1 to 1,000,000+ users on facebook?! My online research has only turned up a few scripts that continually check your account for pokes and poke back when necessary. The research continues…

So, now when I come back in from lunch or being gone a long time, I tend to check under my desk for fluhmanians. The snort gave it away last time ;-) . I may have to venture out on some recon missions of my own. We shall see…

It sounds like several people are going out of town for the break. Be safe and have fun. I know I’ll miss ya (even if I haven’t seen you other than at revalation). I’ll be working Mon-Wed, so if you feel the need for a fluhmann fix, come see me. Maybe we can drink some purple kool-aid together! Time to put the tests behind and relax…

Hmmm… apparently, I’m not in much of a humorous mood today. Maybe I’ll have something better by the end of the day…

Poking

Some people have asked me, “How often do you poke? Once a day? Twice a day?” I normally don’t like to get in to it since I have a reputation to uphold, but I usually respond back with, “On a typical day, it’s not uncommon for me to poke 10, 20, or even 30 times a day.” Yes, I’ve become a poke addict. And I don’t mean ‘hokey-pokey’, I’m talkin all out poke, poke, poke, poke, poke, poke, poke, poke… Sometimes I’ll stay up late poking, I’ll poke first thing in the morning when I wake up, I’d poke in the shower if I could, I poke after getting a coffee refill, I’ll stay after work poking, I’ve even thought about getting other people to poke for me. I’ve been called different names ranging from “poker whore!!!” to “pokin hooker!”. I’ve poked guys and girls….I feel like I’m spinning out of control….

I’ve become lazy in trying to hide it. I’ve been caught poking more than one person and have tried new ways of poking to make up for it. All seems to be good so far, but who knows when I’ll slip again. I mean, I want to be a monogomous poker, but it’s just so hard. Who am I kidding? I love poking!! And I love being poked! I don’t want to look back on facebook and think, “I wish I would have poked more…” So, to all of you pokers out there….I fluv you!!!

Here are the first few namesake logs that I sent to Kyle and April in the beginning…..

Fish Camp Namesake, Day 8:
I found my purple pen today! Well, the pen is purple, but it writes in black ink. I have another one that actually writes in purple….good luck finding that. My camp co-chairs stopped by today. That always makes me happy. The purple Kool-Aid will be making its way home soon, to where it thinks it will be joining some sugar in a hot tub, but in reality, it will be getting ready to join some Doritos in my belly…..The purple and white balloons are starting to move away from the door…..

Fish Camp Namesake, Day 9:
I was kind of sad today, my camp co-chairs didn’t stop by to visit. They have pretty busy schedules, so I don’t expect to see them every day. I need to find more purple to fill my office…..
When accompanying David for a visit to Multi-Cultural Services, I noticed some purple streamers in their office. Contemplating whether it was a part of a celebration for me, I calmly awaited cake, candy, and presents, only to realize that the streamers must be old as they were unrelated to Camp Fluhmann. What a disappointment. I make the journey back to my office…..
The purple balloons have started to separate themselves from the white ones…..they’re moving closer to my desk…..

Fish Camp Namesake, Day 10 (02/17/2006):

Went to lunch (Mi Casa) with my camp co-chairs and one of the campfire speakers (Jessica), it was great! Had Nachos…..took more pictures. We’re so photogenic….the camera loves us, the person taking the picture loves us, and people who see the picture can’t resist the urge to love us. There’s no denying it. We’re just a loveable, gorgeous group. The balloons have taken hostages…..The purples have one white and the whites have one purple. They haven’t made any demands yet, but I’m sure ransom notes will soon follow. I’ll see what I can do about deflating the situation…..

Namesake Log, Day 23

Okay, I think it’s obvious….we have the best counselors ever! They’re the coolest. There’s April, and Kyle, and Byron, and Chelsie, and Chris, and Cullen, and Cynthia, and Erin M., and Erin W., and Jacob, and Jamie, and Jessica, and Jimmy, and Katie, and Krista, and Kristen, and Kyle, and Matthew, and Melissa, and Mindy, and Pete, and Ryan, and Shawn, and Travis B., and Travis S., and Tyler. I’ve gotten all of them added on facebook and have accidentally engaged in several poking wars (just when the balloon war finally ended….). I’ll take NO prisoners, expect maybe a few. There will be NO truces, unless they’re offered. I WILL NOT lose, unless I don’t win.

I don’t know if I’m able to express the true level of excitement I have for the co-chairs and counselors that are Camp Fluhmann. I did the happy dance earlier in my office….I was kinda sad that I didn’t have anyone to do the happy dance with :-( I thought about doing the sad dance, but it’s kinda hard to get the moves down (and messing up would only make me more sad). I’m hoping that I’ll be able to recognize everyone if I see them on campus. I’m sure they’ll look different than when I first met them.

Namesake Log, Day 22

So, last night was the Camp Fluhmann ‘revelation’. It was AWESOME!!! But I mean, what part of Camp Fluhmann isn’t, right? We have the two coolest co-chairs and the most rockin’est gorgeous group of counselors ever! I got to meet everyone last night (like I’m going to remember everyone’s name this early in the game) and watch them do a little jig (in what I believe was the Hokey-Pokey circle, but I can’t be certain). I saw some salsa, some old-school moves, a little Thriller, and some White Man’s overbite to name a few. Erin helped me out with a little two-step action. I can just picture being at the club and everyone doing their move on the dance floor. Everyone else would be like, “Whoa, who are they?” And someone else would say, “That’s Camp Fluhmann.” Then they would be like, “wow, they’re AWESOME!!!!” Thinking back, I should have done some of Napolean Dynamite’s sweet moves. It would’ve been flippin’ awesome!

There’s an eerie silence in my office now. I think the balloon battle ended. All the white ones are dead, except for the Go-Go balloon. It’s kinda crazy…..they the purple ones have formed a circle around it…. I think there may some peace talks going on (I would hope so)…..no wait…..okay, now they’re doing the hokey-pokey….strange….

Namesake Log, Day 17

My camp co-chairs both came by today at different times. I was happy to see them, they rock!! I also met another co-chair. Apparently, Camp Fluhmann is the envy of everyone. People were like, “Hey, can we have more than two co-chairs for Camp Fluhmann?” And my co-chairs were like, “No, ’cause then it wouldn’t be ‘co’-chair. It would be something else. Then you couldn’t call it ‘co’-chair. It’d have to be something like ‘other’-chair, or something and that’s not as cool.” I didn’t really understand it all, but it sounds like we’re the most rockin’est camp around. I’ve had to explain to a few people the importance of the color purple. Here are some important facts/information about the color purple:

The Purple Heart (there’s a reason it’s not the red, blue, green, yellow, or aqua)

Life changing movies:

  • The Color Purple
  • Purple Rain
  • Purple People Eater
  • Purple Hearts
  • Trapped in a Purple Haze
  • What’s Eating Gilbert Grape (ok, so it’s not purple, but I’ve seen some purple grapes

Music:

  • Purple Rain (the album by Prince)
  • Purple (the album by Stone Temple Pilots)
  • Purple Hills (the album and song by D12)
  • Purple Sunrise (the album by Kerry)
  • Deep Purple (the artist)
  • The New Riders of the Purple Sage (the artist)
  • Purple Haze (the song by Jimi Hendrix)
  • Purple stuff (the song by Big Moe on his album Big Purple)
  • Purple Snowflakes (the song by Marvin Gaye)

Scientific

So, as you can see, Purple is a VERY important and significant color.

Namesake Log, Day 13

My camp co-chairs came by today and brought me a present! They are so great and amazing! Thankfully, they finally finished reviewing counselor apps. I received a call from the CIA (Central Intelligence Agency) and the NSA (National Security Agency) regarding my question about how counselors get selected. I think they’re monitoring me now…

It would appear that the balloons have started an all out war (initiated by “Go-Go the White Balloon”). I don’t know if there will be any casualties, but I can only hope not. I wish it would end soon though becuase it’s very hard to work with all of the noise…

Wow, this was so freakin’ simple. Click here, sign there, and “BOOM!” You got a blog. How amazing is that? Now, let’s just hope that I actually start using this thing like it’s supposed to be used.
